I`m Back!

Thank you Followers and other visitors. For those of you who don`t know what`s been going on I was widowed five months ago. Three months later I lost my twin and her husband in a fire. It`s been a rough ride but I`m having better days and back to sewing. I finished my first project in eight or nine months, a bag for my daughter in law. I always drift to bags. It took me a month to finish it. The fabric was cut two months ago. It`s been hard to sit and I had a short attention span. Sewing for people I love has been wonderful. I am eager to do more.

This is a lined bag with two lined pockets on each side. The print fabric is Michael Miller`s Trailer Travel. The solids are Kona Solids. The tutorial is  Fresh Lemons Farmer`s Market Bag
The corners are boxed and it`s a decent size.

The drought is continuing. No wildflowers, none.  My lilacs, rosemary and  pine tree are hanging in there. That`s it for today. Thank you for visiting. I`m okay and I`ll continue to post.

Cathy

  1. You have had tragic losses, and deaths I did not realize. My prayers are for you to continue your life in hopefulness.

I just looked up something about the communion of saints. I will ask for even more prayers for comfort.

So glad you could sit down at your sewing and finish a project. Hugs to you. And prayers.

  4. Oh Cathy, I'm so sorry to read about your twin and her husband - what a huge loss for you, so soon after losing your beloved hubby.
One of our friends had a bad year last year - his Dad died, followed by his Mum two months later, then completely out of the blue his only sibling brother died just after that. His family wiped out. Very tragic.
That is a lovely tote bag you've made; I don't make tote bags - I've got more than enough already! But I've been busy with other things this year, including a kitchen renovation - such a huge difference!

  5. Cathy you have not been far from my thoughts....nothing prepares you for these kind of losses...but in time, our hearts open up again so more love can pour into them...blessings...

  6. Cathy I'm way behind on reading blogs so I've just opened yours up today and I'm so glad to see you're back. I've thought about you so often knowing that the loss of your sister on the heels of your husband's death had to have been devastating. They tell me that staying busy is the key to moving on but how in the world can anyone stay busy when their grief is all consuming? My heart hurts for you. I love your bag and I know your daughter-in-law will love it as well. That size bag is perfect for so many things - I have a couple I take to the Farmer's Market with me and they make carrying my veggies so much easier. blessings, marlene
