It`s My Blog Hop Day!

Good Morning from the Arizona High Desert! Today it`s my turn to share my blocks as a participant in the Red, White, Blue Blog Hop. I haven`t sewn for years, so here we go! Both blocks are Wonky Stars.

The stripes are a nice cotton. The gingham not so much. I prefer  vintage gingham from the 50`s and 60`s.

More of the red and white cotton and a nice floral print. Fabrics are from my stash except the center square was cut from a purloined (stolen) shirt from the husband. We live in a very remote area and I make do with what`s on hand. Maybe someday he`ll miss that shirt, but I doubt it! I missed the best natural light when I took this pic.

Thank you Jane`s Fabrics for hosting the Hop and Madame Samm for sponsoring this nice experience.

Please visit these other participants for more lovely blocks.

A Wonky Star

Hi! The fire is still burning on the Hualapai reservation and closing in on their airstrip. Read about it here with pictures on my post yesterday. It was 3 miles from the airstrip a few hours ago. We are having gusty winds and it is hot and dry. Close to 103 with 5% humidity. That`s bad news.

I mentioned in yesterday`s post the Red, White and Blue Blog Hop starts July 1st and I will post my blocks July 10. This is going to be lots of fun, visiting over 100 participants to look at their blocks in patriotic colors. Click the Blog Hop link in my sidebar to admire the beautiful blocks created.

This is one of my blocks. I am very fond of Wonky Stars! They are so much fun to make. I used fabric from my stash. I would have preferred to use 1950`s vintage gingham. The quality is much better than the new stuff. But when neighbors pass their fabric on to me I`ll take it!

I hope you all have a safe, happy weekend. Be careful with the fireworks next week.

I start this post with a picture of a lion that daily crosses through my son`s property. Beautiful ! This is near Prescott.
