This is one of my favorite finds, a 1940`s - 1950`s over bed wooden hospital table. It`s solid wood, four and a half feet long with a vanity mirror that is concealed (folds down) in the table top and inside shelf for your makeup or whatever. It raises and lowers with a crank on either end and it rolls on castors. There is a table exactly like this in the Susan Hayward movie "I Want To live". This baby is still on our porch till cleaning day.
Till Later,
Cathy
How fun is this?!! What are you going to do with it?? We're curious!
ReplyDeleteI`m going to refinish it and repaint that little space under the mirror. looks like it used to be white enamel.
ReplyDeleteDon`t know where I`ll put it yet.
This brought back memories! I am old enough to remember tables like this in use at the city hospital I worked for! It was a very useful table except patients often forgot to take home vanity items they stored in it!
ReplyDeleteI own a very similar over bed table, from around the same time period. I'm curious if you have any idea of it's value? I can't seem to find anything on the internet about it.

ReplyDeleteI have one very similar to this. No mirror but top opens and adjusts with a metal hinge. Can’t seem to find any info about it.
